This blog is about my journey towards earning the first advanced practice clinical Doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) in the US.
My background includes a BS degree in Chemistry from Southeastern Louisiana University, BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – New Orleans, MS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Rutgers University, and I am currently in the last stage, the residency, of the DCLS degree from Rutgers University.
I have 15 years of experience in the medical laboratory with 12 years in laboratory management and administration (don’t think that means it’s been 12 years since I worked the bench; I worked the bench on my last day prior to leaving for residency!). I’ve also worked in a large medical center, a reference laboratory, a physician’s office laboratory, and rural acute care hospital.
Hope you enjoy this blog!
